Responsible for all aspects of accounts payable processing. Maintain accounts payable documentation (purchase orders, contracts, invoices, etc.) through payment process.
Responsible for the successful execution of Taste of the Gardens food & beverage functions ensuring a quality experience for all guests. The position is required to coordinate and offer hands on service. Works independently, as well as with effective direction and support for other staff members, volunteers and vendors.
This position is a support position for the Taste of the Gardens Café. Responsible for assisting with sales, food production, floor support and customer service through use of the organization’s Guiding Principles.
Responsibilities: include, but are not limited to:
Set up facility rental equipment and exhibit materials for internal and external functions. Clean the facility according to daily assignments and project requests. This may include but not be limited to - proper use of cleaning products for all tasks, trash removal, restroom cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, carpet cleaning, scrubbing tile floors, window washing, mopping. Assist with snow removal, moving of supplies, moving of furniture, and other tasks as requested. Assist with implementation of emergency procedures when needed.
Perform other duties as requested by supervisors.
Responsible for setting up, stocking, serving and dismantling catering and, or beverage services for the Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Parks’ Food and Beverage Department. Required to work independently as well as with effective direction and support for other staff members, volunteers and vendors.
Responsible for all aspects of the processing of payroll, including bi-weekly processing and coordination with the Human Resources Department. This is a part-time position, working approximately 20 – 25 hours per week. Flexibility in schedule in order to meet work demands is required.
Seasonal and Internships
Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park is seeking an intern for the fall 2015. Interns will assist the Hospitality Department to sell event spaces, assist with phone inquiries, plan, organize, and coordinate events and catering ranging from corporate, social, trade shows, weddings, receptions and more. Will work in office and “on the floor”; physical work is required. Will learn to use hospitality management software; Event Master and Turbo CAD. Hospitality intern will assist the department from origination to execution ensuring a quality experience for our guests.
The Human Resources & Volunteer Intern may work on a wide variety of HR and Volunteer projects. This is an unpaid internship working approximately 20 – 25 hours per week. The Intern will receive real-world experience and work samples to build his/her professional portfolio. The ideal candidate will bring fresh ideas to the team and actively engage with the organization. The Human Resources & Volunteer Intern will gain knowledge of the importance of volunteers in a non-profit organization. The Human Resources & Volunteer Intern will also gain a better understanding of human resources day-to-day operations.
Assist in the responsibilities for sculpture conservation and maintenance projects as assigned by the Assistant Curator of Collections/Conservator or the Assistant Conservator. Of primary consideration are the cleaning and maintenance of works in the permanent collection or on temporary display. General assistance with the temporary exhibition program is also of importance.
